One of my
resolves for the summer of 2003 was to take part in the Grand Tour,
an annual event put on by a cycling organization based in Montreal.
In a conversation with Blaine back around Memorial Day, I convinced
him to join me. Diana decided to accompany us because she had never
been in that part of Canada and she expected it would be a great
place to spend a week painting. So, on the Thursday before the event,
we set off. It's pretty much a full day's drive to Quebec City,
where we had hostel beds reserved. The following day, we completed
the drive to Amqui, where the ride was to start.
The pictures
are roughly in order, but with big chunks of the trip unrepresented.
I guess that really the best way to share memories of a ride is
to sit around on a chilly evening and swap lies.
