LAGBRAU Photos from the

Legacy Annual Great Bike Ride Across Utah®

This ride took place September 25 to October 1, 2005. Some 85 or so cyclists rode from Blanding, in southeastern Utah, to Silverdale at the entrance to Zion National Park in southwestern Utah. Pictures certainly can't begin to do justice to what meets the eye on this trip, but they are a great way for those of us who were there to focus our recollections.

To read more about LAGBRAU, visit the official site at lagbrau.com. The ride has been continued in succeeding years, with some additions and modifications. There were some real organizational problems in '05, but it looks like they have been ironed out enough to draw riders -- and, even if there are problems, this part of the world is worh visiting. The scenery is the most astonishingly spectacular and dramatic that I've seen, and riding through it by bicycle is absolutely the ideal way to see it.
